Ending childhood hunger: Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation

September is Hunger Action Month, and Entegra is helping in the fight to end childhood hunger through Sodexo’s Stop Hunger Foundation.

A not-for-profit organization, the Stop Hunger Foundation’s mission is to ensure every child in the U.S. grows up with dependable access to enough nutritious food to enable them to lead a healthy, productive life.

Did you know that one in five children faces hunger in the U.S.?

The Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation mobilizes experts, innovators, volunteers and donors to feed children in the U.S. today and advocate for policies that ensure no child is hungry.

During this month, Entegra is partnering with suppliers Aspire Bakeries and Otis Spunkmeyer to donate $3 per case of cookies purchased by Entegra clients to the Stop Hunger Foundation.

This is just one of the ways that Sodexo and Entegra give back to communities across the country.

Stop Hunger’s impact

In 2023, Stop Hunger granted over $2 million to 239 organizations. The local charities that received the funding have helped to:

• Provide free and nutritious meals to children at risk of hunger during the summer months.
• Work with clients to divert surplus food by donating to local charities to help feed those most in need.
• Fund community garden projects.
• Establish partnerships with Sodexo’s supplier network with a portion of sales benefitting the Foundation.

How can you get involved?

If you want to become part of the solution to end childhood hunger, consider taking action in any of these ways:

• Participate in a Servathon, April 1-May 31 each year.
• Engage virtually with the Love the Planet Food Drive, tied to Earth Month and focused on increasing access to healthy plant-based foods for people struggling with food insecurity.
